Storage

Under ideal conditions teas last at least a year if tinned andup to two years in unopened tins. It is unwise to purchase more tea than you can use within six months or a year, because there is no practical way to extend this lifespan in storage.

Keep tea in a cool, dry place; don't refrigerate or freeze it because moisture condensation may result from temperature changes, which could cause the tea to become moldy. Always keep your teas tightly tinned and away from the spice rack, the onion bin, the kitchen stove, cooking odours and mothballs. If the container is not airtight, teas pick up other odors and flavoured teas lose their aroma.
